Employment

The conservation technician will perform a variety of duties in the conservation board=s parks and wildlife areas. This position is under the supervision of the Indian Creek Unit Ranger and will report to work at the Hickory Grove Park shop, located three miles southwest of Colo.

Story County is initiating a new program called Go Green that is intended to help move activities of county government in directions that will reduce our impact on the environment and hopefully reduce our cost to provide government services at the same time. It's part of a nation-wide effort being promoted by the National Association of Counties (NACo). Our local Go Green Team made up of representatives of various county departs will have met for the first time by the time you read this.

School Precinct Maps

Early Voting is now available! Voters may vote an absentee ballot in the Auditor's Office during regular business hours (Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm).

For school districts with polls opening at 7 am on election day (Ames, Colo-Nesco, Nevada), the last day to vote absentee in person is Monday, September 8 by 5 pm.

For school districts with polls opening at 12 pm on election day (Ballard, Collins-Maxwell, Gilbert, Roland-Story), the last day to vote absentee in person is Tuesday, September 9 by 11 am.

To request a mailed absentee ballot, please submit a signed Absentee Ballot Request form. The last day to request that a ballot be mailed to you is Friday, September 5.
