DIRECTOR
OF REVENUE AND FINANCE
701-71 17(1) Iowa Administrative Code
Grounds for protest:
The only ground for protesting to the local board of review reconvened in
special session pursuant to Iowa Code Section 441.49 is that the application
of the director's final equalization order results in a value greater than
that permitted under Iowa Code Section 441.21.
NOTE:
Assessed values are equalized by the Department of Revenue and Finance every
two years. Local taxing authorities determine the final tax levies and may
reduce property tax rates to compensate for any increase in valuation due
to equalization.
