Story County Highway R38 (510th Ave.) will be closed on April 1st, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. for a highway reconstruction project.  This road will be closed from E57 (280th St.) north 4 miles to 240th St., just south of Hwy 30. 

The official detour route will start near Kelly on E57 (280th St.)  and will go east 3.5 miles to Hwy 69 then north 4 miles to Hwy 30 in Ames, then 3.5 miles west back to R38.  Once the road is closed, it will remain closed for the entire construction project which is expected to last approximately 6 months.
