Camping

Camping Rules

  1. All campers must register within 1/2 hour of arrival and display camping receipt on post.  All information on the registration envelope must be filled out completely and accurately.
  2. A camping unit, as defined in Chapter II.15 ("Camping unit" shall mean a shelter such as a tent, trailer, motor vehicle, tarpaulin, or sleeping bag for temporary residence at a campground.), must be present and set up on site before site can be occupied and/or paid for.
  3. All camping sites are on a first come/first served basis, but the registered camping party on a site has the first option to register for additional days before check-out time up to the maximum 14-day limit.  The site must be registered under the name of a person who will occupy the site.
  4. One camping unit per campsite is allowed (trailer, tent, etc.).  An additional tent is allowed for minor children.
  5. Trailers and campers must be parked on the camping pad. (Hickory Grove Breezy Bay and Dakins Lake)
  6. Vehicles must be parked in designated campsites, off of the grass and campground road.  Additional vehicles and visitors must park in designated parking areas.  (Hickory Grove Breezy Bay and Dakins Lake, does not apply to primitive sites where vehicles may park on grass.)
  7. Quiet hours are 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.; visitors must leave by 10:30 p.m.
  8. Loud and offensive noises of any kind such as loud music, voices, or television that can be heard beyond the designated campsite are prohibited.
  9. Limit of occupancy is 14 consecutive days; campers are then required to leave the park for a minimum of 48 hours.
  10. All pets must be leashed. Tying pets to vegetation is prohibited.
  11. Trees or shrubs may not be cut or damaged in any way.
  12. Daily check-out time is 4:00 p.m. (8:00 p.m. on Sundays and holidays). No refunds are available.  (Hickory Grove Breezy Bay and primitive, and Dakins Lake)
  13. Campers may leave their vessels in the lake between 10:30 p.m.-5 a.m. along the campground shoreline.  (Hickory Grove Breezy Bay)
  14. Campsites must be kept in a clean and orderly manner at all times.
  15. Fires are allowed in designated receptacles only. 
    Campsite registration must be in the name of a person 18 years of age or older who will occupy the camping unit on that site for the full term of the registration.

 

Camping is allowed at the following designated areas: Hickory Grove Park (Breezy Bay campground and primitive area) and Dakins Lake.


 On-site facilities include:
  • Self-registration for 43 camping sites with electrical hookups that will accept 50 amp, 30 amp, and 110 volt service; $17 per night per site
  • Shower house with flush toilets and hot water in main campground mid-April through mid-November
  • 10 primitive camping sites; $7 fee charged
  • The campground is closed December 1-March 31

On-site facilities include:

  • Self-registration for ten camping sites with electrical hookups that will accept 30 amp and 110 volt service; $10 per night per site.
  • Pit toilets, no showers
  • The campground is closed December 1-March 31
