Be Our Guests We invite you to visit our varied and beautiful parks. We'll be happy to help you in anyway we can. In return, we ask that you observe all rules and regulations while visiting Story County parks.
Park Rules:
- Park hours are 5 a.m.-10:30 p.m., unless otherwise designated.
- Camping and swimming are permitted only in designated areas.
- Building of fires is permitted only in designated areas. Be sure your fire is out before leaving.
- Please do not remove or damage any park vegetation. Nuts, fruit, and mushrooms, however, may be harvested.
- Park only in designated parking areas.
- Public hunting is allowed only in designated areas. Dogs must be kept on leashes from March 15 to July 15 in public hunting areas and under control at all other times.
- Pets must be kept on leashes in non-hunting areas at all times.
- A carry-in, carry-out trash policy exists at all county parks. Any trash you carry in must be taken with you.
- Please observe and obey all signs.
- Only electric trolling motors are allowed on Story County lakes; gasoline-powered motors are prohibited.
- Be considerate of others so that everyone may enjoy the out-of-doors.
- Remember, take only photographs; leave only footprints.
